2025 Competition Theme:

Nouveau Renaissance:
Art Nouveau Revival

Bringing back the elegance of Art Nouveau with a modern twist. This theme offers a distinctive opportunity for designers to blend the classic elegance of the Art Nouveau movement with contemporary sensibilities. Designers are encouraged to reimagine the fluidity and organic beauty of nature’s curves, floral motifs, and flowing lines, infusing them into contemporary pieces crafted from gold, silver, and gemstones. This theme challenges designers to transcend traditional luxury by emphasizing quality, craftsmanship, and longevity. Art Nouveau designs have timeless appeal and are known for their intricate yet commercially viable forms. The focus on organic lines and nature-inspired elements can be elegantly incorporated into high-end jewellery collections that appeal to a broad portion of the luxury market.

Previous Award Winners

The SJDA carries forward a legacy that spans over a decade, a testament to our enduring passion for excellence in jewellery design. The competition also integrates Singapore’s International Jewellery Stars Award. In 2024 the SJDA was very successful: 93 designers submitted their works from 16 different countries and were evaluated by an international panel of esteemed judges. The winners were chosen based on their creativity, technical excellence, and conceptualization of the Fantasy theme.

The 1st place winner of the Open Category and the 3 winners of the Emerging Talent Categories had their pieces manufactured as part of the competition.

16 Finalists were also entered into a public voting contest that generated 3188 Votes from 1774 individuals 62 different countries! The design with the highest number of public votes was announced as the winner of the People’s Choice Awards category.

Judging Panel

For participants in the Singapore Jewellery Design Award, the opportunity to have their creations evaluated by our esteemed judging panel not just an honour but a gateway to invaluable feedback and exposure. Their involvement as a judges ensure that contestants’ work will be seen and appraised by some of the most influential and in-touch members of the global jewellery community. Our judging panel will encourage competition participants to push the boundaries of creativity in their quest for excellence and receive feedback from eminent figures who not only understand the pulse of the market but also possesses the foresight to forecast emerging trends.

Kean Ng

Jessie Foo

Founder, Yuli Inc. Jessie is a renowned jeweler and the founder of Yuli Inc., a fine jewelry brand based in Singapore. She established Yuli in 1995, focusing on the design and retail of exquisite jewelry pieces. Jessie is known for her personalized approach to jewelry, making her a sought-after jeweler for bespoke commissions in Singapore14. Educated at the Gemological Institute of America, Jessie combines her technical expertise with a passion for creativity to craft unique and luxurious designs6. Her work often involves her family, as she engages her three sons in the business, fostering a family-oriented approach to her craft2. Vinod More

Founder, Jewel Box The Jewel Box is a luxury bespoke jewelry brand based in Singapore. Vonod's career in the gems and jewelry industry that began in 1985, Vinod brings extensive expertise in gemology, design, and craftsmanship. Together with his wife, Sangeeta More, he established The Jewel Box in 1994 after years of experience in the diamond and gemstone business in Hong Kong. Their vision was to create a private gallery offering exquisite, handcrafted jewelry and a personalized experience for clients. Vinod is known for his creative approach to jewelry design, blending technical knowledge with artistic inspiration to craft unique pieces. His passion for fine jewelry and commitment to excellence have made The Jewel Box a trusted name for bespoke luxury creations.
