Paris-based, Katerina has worked as a freelance journalist and content editor since 2011, writing articles for international publications including Vogue Arabia, VO+, Robb Report, L’Officiel, the Natural Diamond Council, and others. She discovered her appreciation for fine and luxury jewellery while working in sales and management for high-end jewellery brands in London’s esteemed Bond Street. Her passion for the art of jewellery has only strengthened with time and led her to study gemmology at the Gemmological Institute of Great Britain (Katerina graduated from GEM-A as an FGA).
To share her jewellery knowledge and expertise, Katerina founded her eponymous website – katerinaperez.com – and launched her Instagram platform in 2013. Since then, she has become one of the most highly regarded and authoritative KOL in the fine jewellery space. She is hailed as being one of the first writers to bring high jewellery online, combining her own impressions and opinions of new collections with jewellery trends, watch insights, coloured gemstone stories and original photography. Much of this photography can be found on Katerina’s Instagram – @katerina_perez – which provides a community for more than 430,000 jewellery lovers. Drawing on this knowledge of engaging and entertaining a global following, Katerina regularly works as a brand consultant, collection curator and public speaker to offer best-practice guidance to the jewellery sector.
Katerina has been recognised in trade magazines and the consumer press, notably The New York Times, L’Officiel, Tatler, JCK and The Financial Times. She has also served as a guest panellist, lecturer, judge and keynote speaker at various international events, including Vicenzaoro, International Jewellery London and COUTURE Las Vegas, and has delivered educational talks at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Even with this ongoing success, Katerina has never lost sight of her mission to make as many women as possible fall in love with jewellery, just as she did, and to show her readers and followers that jewellery is an art form, not merely a form of self-adornment.
